The Managing Director of ITC, Joop Timmermans, has turned 68 and will step down from his position as Managing Director from the beginning of June this year. We are pleased to announce that Mark de Jonge, aged 47, has accepted to take over the position as Managing Director of ITC from the beginning of June 2012.

Mark has an engineering background from the Royal Netherlands Navy and the University of Delft. This education is also supported by management training.  His management experience is with the Royal Netherlands Navy and with SMIT/Royal Boskalis Westminster. His latest position included the overall responsibility for the global Smit fleet, more than 400 vessels. We are very happy to get onboard a very competent and experienced replacement for Joop. Joop started his career with ITC 37 years ago and he has very much built the company and the brand as a strong and reliable brand in the towage industry despite many turbulent periods.

End of June we are planning a farewell reception to thank Joop for a job well done and to introduce Mark de Jonge.

Joop will continue on the Board of ITC and it is also agreed that he will act as a consultant and advisor to his successor following the change.
